From South Carolina, take I-26 Exit 1 and head towards Landrum.

Go just into Landrum, passing the Hare and Hound Restaurant on your right.

Cross the Rail Road Tracks and turn right immediately on Route 176, aka Howard Ave.

Go about 2 miles, then into North Carolina.

Turn Left on Lakeshore Dr, which is just after the BP Gas Station.

Drive up the hill, when you see Lake Lanier, just go straight into South Carolina.

(Do not turn and drive over the "Dam" Bridge.)

The  Tea House will be on your left after a few turns and a straight-away.

From North Carolina, drive down "the mountain" on I-26 to exit 67 to Hwy 108.

Carefully exit  and bear to the right following the signs for Tryon via Hwy 108. 

Go about 4 miles until Hwy 108 ends at the Texaco Triangle Stop.

Turn left onto Hwy 176 and go thru Tryon, watching your speed.

After the Railroad tracks go down the hill,  past the "IGA" and around a few turns.

Turn Right on Lakeshore Dr, which is just before the BP Gas Station.

Drive up the hill, when you see Lake Lanier, just go straight into South Carolina.

(Do not turn and drive over the "Dam" Bridge.)

The  Tea House will be on your left after a few turns and a straight-away.

If you cross the state line on Hwy 176, you've gone to far.

If you are in Georgia, you are at Lake Sidney Lanier, not Lake Lanier.
